Mnemoloop
Release note

Mnemoloop 2.0 moves plugin data into one file

Statistics and settings now live in a shared data.json envelope. The plugin migrates them on first load, and nothing is merged across devices.

What changed

Until 1.10.0, Mnemoloop wrote statistics to statistics.json and settings to the top level of data.json. Version 2.0.0 puts both in one versioned file, and migrates the file it finds instead of guessing what it holds.

One file, versioned

The envelope carries a version field. The plugin reads it on load, runs the pending migrations in order, and writes the result once.

  • Statistics keep their per-day counters and their review history.
  • Settings keep their keys, so nothing has to be reconfigured.
// data.json, after the migration
{
  "version": 2,
  "statistics": { ... },
  "settings": { ... }
}

What you need to do

Nothing, in most cases. Update the plugin, open Obsidian once, and the migration runs on load. The work happens before the dashboard renders, so you never see a half-migrated store.

  1. Update Mnemoloop from the community plugin directory.
  2. Open Obsidian. The first load migrates data.json in place.
  3. Check the dashboard. Counters and settings are where they were.

BREAKING CHANGE

A downgrade to 1.10.0 ignores the new envelope. Back up data.json before you update if your vault is not under version control.
